Aspirations Week

Each year at DBJA, we have a week called Aspirations Week. This is where the children learn about the jobs around them and think about the future for themselves. It is about promoting positive thoughts and the children believing that they can aspire to be whatever they want to be in the future. We have many people come in to talk to the children about their jobs from journalists, to firefighters, to the police and even radio DJ’s! We have also had a focus on sustainability and had people from LBBD Waste Minimisation Team talking to us about how to be environmentally friendly and sustainable. The children spend the week researching their chosen job to find out what they need to do to have that job. We end the week on a dress up day where the children come into school wearing the uniform of their job. It is a lovely, positive week and ensures our children have the passion and energy to reach their full potential.
